Please read through these Terms and Conditions:
When buying from our online shop, your purchase is covered by various legisilation including - Sale of Goods Act 1979 and also Distance selling regulations....
RETURNS AND REFUNDS
Essentially, the Distance Selling Regulations allows you for a 7 day cooling off period from the day you place your oder in which you have the right to cancel your purchase.
So, if the product you buy online is unsuitable, you may return it to us for a refund. However, you will have to cover the cost of return postage. If you've ordered anything other than a bicycle, then all you have to do is return it to us, in it's original UNUSED, condition in it's orginal packaging and we will issue you with a full refund. (Please ensure you return your goods no later than 7 days from the day you receive them).
Please Note - Unused means exactly that. That you have not ridden the bike., or used/fitted any accessory to your bike.
So if when your new bike arrives and you think it's either unsuitable, or too big, or too small, then please contact us immediately, either by telephone or email to advise us of this, and we can then make arrangements to take back the bike.
It doesn't mean you can ride around the area and then decide that's it not for you. If you're really unsure as to whether you should buy a bike before test riding it, then we recommend you visit one of our stores where you can try out the bikes before deciding.
This also applies to any accessories/parts you order from our website. Again, returns on only made on the basis that the goods are in an unused condition and we can sell them as new.
Please note - unlike some other online retailers - we don't charge you an admin fee or as it's often called 're-stocking' fee - which can sometimes be as high as 25% of the value of the original purchase PROVIDED the goods are returned in an unused condition.
Fitting child seats, panniers and other accessories and then deciding they are not suitable is NOT considered an unusable condition.
Our aim is to have happy customers - so, we comply with all the relevant legisilation - all we ask is of you cover the return postage/carriage of the item you bought within 10 days of
So, no admin fees - restocking fees or any other hidden charges PROVIDED YOU INFORM US THAT THE BIKE/PRODUCTS ARE UNSUITABLE AND YOU DO NOT USE THEM.
If you have used them in any way - and you wish to return them, we may at our discretion take them back. (Please note, we legally do not have to) and we will charge 25% return fees charge plus collection fees.
Please note, if you're returning a bike - given its size and the risk of damage on the return journey - we will arrange for our carrier to pick the bike up from you - all you need to do is pack it up as it was when we sent it to you. Once we get it back here in our warehouse and it's checked over, we'll refund you the amount you paid for the bike (excluding any initial carriage fees) - less £25 carriage costs for the return journey.
In the case of accessories ordered online - you are responsible for the costs in sending it back to us. Please note that you should use a traceable delivery service where you can prove the item has been sent and that we have taken receipt of it in our warehouse.
DAMAGE TO YOUR GOODS WHEN THEY ARRIVE
Please check the condition of the box/package carefully when it arrives. In the event you notice any damage to the outer packaging, please note this on the consignment sheet when you're asked to sign - ie, sign as 'damaged'.
If when you open your packaging/box and you notice any damage to bike/product, you must inform us of this immediately - preferably by telephone, or if we're closed, by email.
Failure to do this, will result in any future claim that we make against our transport company as being null and void.
FEDEX require us/you to inform them in writing within 24 hours of the parcel being delievered. If we make a claim for damages outside of this period, then they will not entertain any claim and it will be automatically refused.
SO - DAMAGE MUST BE NOTIFIED TO US IMMEDIATELY, OR WITHIN 24 HOURS OF YOUR PARCEL ARRIVING. FAILURE TO DO THIS AND WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ENTERTAIN YOUR CLAIM.
WARRANTIES
All Batavus bicycles come with a 10 year frame warranty and 2 years on all component parts. We handle all warranty claims here in the UK on behalf of Batavus, so you don't have to worry about who to contact and so on.
Where materials prove to be defective, Batavus will either repair or replace the faulty part/product. As with all manufacturer's warranties, this does not cover labour.
All other products, including cycle panniers, locks are covered by manufacturers warranty - each one differs for each product.
When can you expect to receive your order?
We aim to process your order either on the day you place the order, or the next working day, however during particularly busy periods this is not always possible. So you should always allow for 10-14 days for your order to arrive. If you particuarly want the bike/product asap, please phone us on 01903 730089 and we can offer you an upgraded next day service at an additional cost (quote given at the time).
All bicycles are sent via FEDEX UK on a 3-day service. When your bike has been despatched, we will notify you via email and this email will contain a tracking number where you can track your bike's progress online.
Bobike child seats are also sent via FEDEX UK on a 3 day service and you will be provided with a tracking number with your despatch confirmation email.
We don't usually provide tracking numbers for cycle panniers and smaller parcels.
In any event, you should usually receive your order with 10 days of your placing your order. Usually most orders are received by customers in around 3 days.
